Still Life Oil Paintings

Tea for Two

(oil on panel, 12" x 16" x 1/4")

Every now and then I like to focus entirely on the challenge of visual expression through color.

I find that still lifes present me with this rare and valued opportunity.

And so, here you'll find a calliope of color informing the mundane objects of our everyday existence.

Everything from teacups gingerly arranged with the utmost care to carefully laden bowls overflowing with the fruits of earth's bounty to gorgeous vases erupting in iridescent bouquets that delight and warm the heart has been gathered here for your enjoyment.

Do not, however, mistake these works as simply mundane musings. All serve a much higher and exalted purpose.

Like mannequins in a shop window, these subjects serve as a humble framework that offers form to brilliant palettes of color that entice, delight, and express in the unerring language of light.

I hope you revel in this visual language of color as much as I reveled in learning to master its expression.
